ARE YOU AN ART COLLECTOR?
My art is for people who have succeeded enough in life by achieving everything with their own work.
And once they allowed themselves to slow down in their race for well-being and understand that it was time for beauty to replace the bare functionality of life and interior.
A beauty that gives energy, strength and inspiration to continue developing yourself and business.
Even in our cynical, technological and logical world there is something completely out of logic, maybe even a little mystical, something that you want to look at again and again, making yourself happier.
NATASHA SHELOKOVA, artist BIO
"Sometimes good things happen to you when you expect them least..."
Natasha Shelokova is Toronto based full time artist. Having Ukrainian background, she has been living in Toronto for more than 20 years. She knew she’s going to be an artist since she could remember herself. Graduated architect and interior designer, she has made a career as an interior designer in the well-known interior design company in Toronto. Art has always been a passion of her, and she has been fortunate enough to pursue it as a career. 12 years ago, she decided to change her life and become a full-time artist. She is a current member of Association of Ukrainian artists of Canada. She has worked in various art fields, mostly worked in traditional style. She has worked on a lot of portraits, as well as on landscapes and cityscapes. After graduating from the Art Institute, her art has undergone significant changes and has moved to a new level. Her artistic voice reveals new facets of her talent.
Natasha Shelokova is working now in the Abstract Realism Style. In her work, she explores the compelling dialogue, where strict geometry intersects with organic wildness. Through a layered approach of mixed media finished with oils, she builds complex surfaces that mirror this fundamental tension between order and chaos. When standing before her paintings, she hopes people feel a deepening connection—not just to the subject matter, but to something more fundamental within themselves. The careful layering of media, culminating in luminous oils, creates surfaces that reward prolonged viewing, inviting viewers to slow down, to breathe, to discover new details with each moment spent in contemplation.
Her process of doing the artworks is interesting and unique. She started with dream and fantasy looking ideas, combining them to the one multilevel space, then adds textures on her canvas, using modelling paste and collage. She loves using spray paints and acrylic for the under painting, but always finishes painting with oil, that turn painting to live. Each piece exists in a space between control and surrender, where careful planning meets spontaneous expression.

'I am grateful to my family. Their loving support has helped my dreams come true."
